Logline Doctor
Paste your story's logline. Cinequill's dramaturg reviews it on four points and suggests a tighter version.
- 01Protagonist: who they are, in a trait that says something
- 02Goal: what they want, concretely
- 03Stakes: what they lose if they fail
- 04Irony: why them, why now
How the dramaturg reads it
Protagonist
A role or trait that makes them specific, not a name. "A stained-glass restorer" already tells you how she sees the world.
Goal
An action you can film that has an end point. "Find the truth" is vague; "piece together the last night" is not.
Stakes
What happens if they fail, said plainly. It is why the audience stays to the end.
Irony
The contrast that makes the story inevitable: the least suited character facing the problem that tests them most.
Does your logline hold up? Turn it into a project.
In Cinequill the logline becomes the first field of your story bible: then characters, structure and screenplay, with the dramaturg beside you. The Free plan is enough to start.
